How much will I pay per month in electricity?

Example only (not a guarantee)

A 3,500 W miner running continuously:

  • 3,500 W × 24 h/day × 30 days = 2,520 kWh/month
  • 2,520 kWh × $0.07 = $176.40/month

Actual cost varies with your miner's real power draw and uptime. The M70S draws ~3,500 W and the M73 draws ~7,200 W at rated load. Contact us for an estimate based on your specific hardware.

Why our rate doesn't move with utility pricing

  • Fathom Labs' Southeast Texas facility is served by Entergy Texas, a regulated utility — not a deregulated spot market, so our costs aren't exposed to hour-to-hour price swings.
  • No state income tax and a business-friendly regulatory environment for digital asset operations.
  • Abundant land and infrastructure make Texas one of the leading US states for large-scale bitcoin mining.
  • The $0.07/kWh hosting rate is fixed for the contract term, so it doesn't change if utility or wholesale power prices move.

Can I host a single miner?

Yes. The minimum order is one machine, and it pays the same $0.07 per kWh as any larger order — there's no volume tier that prices small customers worse.

The economics still need to work for you. At $30 installation fee + import fee per miner in setup costs, a single machine carries the full onboarding cost alone, where a larger order spreads the same per-unit fee across more hashrate. That fee also covers freight to the facility — but it's front-loaded, and you should run your payback math with it included rather than treating it as an afterthought.

If you're deciding between hosting one machine and running it at home, our home vs hosted cost comparison walks through the difference.

How Southeast Texas compares on power cost

Hosting rates in the United States generally run between $0.06 and $0.09 per kWh, with the spread driven mostly by regional wholesale power cost and how much of the operator's overhead is folded into the rate. Competitive facilities cluster in the $0.065 to $0.08 band.

At $0.07 per kWh, Southeast Texas sits at the lower end of that range.

Two things worth checking on any hosting quote, not just ours:

  • Is the rate fixed or indexed? An indexed quote and a fixed quote at the same headline number are not the same product.
  • What's excluded? Setup, freight, import duty, insurance, and warranty are sometimes quoted separately. A lower per-kWh rate with $1,500 in unbundled onboarding costs may total more than a higher rate that includes them.
